Don't you just hate that? You're drifting off to sleeeeep, barely aware of the rhythm of your own breathing when whammo! current wip (and/or character therein) decides that's then is the perfect time to drop some pearl of wisdom. That elusive piece of the GMC (goal, motivation, conflict), a revealing bit of dialogue, a brilliant scene outline. Or in my case last night a pointer to a glaring huge ass plot hole.
Current manuscripts mostly like to drunk dial you when it's too late, because your submission has already gone out, or when you're so exhausted that you'll hold on to the hope that you'll remember the gist of the conversation tomorrow morning.
Usually you don't, and b!tch-assed CM will then choose to play dumb while you wrack your brains for what seemed so freakin earth shattering the night before on the off chance that it really was.
