Anyone interested in starting an AA type program for readers?

Didn't I just get rid of a sh*tload of books? So why (why, why) is it that I picked up two more books yesterday?

Carla Kelly's Beau Crusoe (which I've been sooo looking forward to). I really like CK's writing and her characters/settings.

Stranded alone on a desert island, he had lived to tell the tale. A triumphant return to the ton saw James Trevenen hailed as Beau Crusoe—a gentleman of spirit, verve and action. But only he knew the true cost of his survival! Scandalous!

Susannah Park had been shunned by Society. She lived content with her calm existence—until Beau Crusoe determinedly cut up her peace! The beautiful widow wanted to help him heal the wounds of the past—but what secrets was this glorious man hiding?

And Linnea Sinclair's Games of Command -- my interest was piqued by the recent review on Dear Author. It sci-fi rather than paranormal. Like a lot of peeps, I'm more or less all para'd out, so a book has to either touch on favoured setup/characters/guilty pleasure, have an author voice that I really love, or have something unique about the story, otherwise I'm more than willing to give it a pass. No harm, no foul.

The universe isn’t what it used to be. With the new Alliance between the Triad and the United Coalition, Captain Tasha “Sass” Sebastian finds herself serving under her former nemesis, biocybe Admiral Branden Kel-Paten–and doing her best to hide a deadly past. But when an injured mercenary winds up in their ship’s sick bay–and in the hands of her best friend, Dr. Eden Fynn–Sass’s efforts may be wasted.

Wanted rebel Jace Serafino has information that could expose all of Sass’s secrets, tear the fragile Alliance apart–and end Sass’s career if Kel-Paten discovers them. But the biocybe has something to hide as well, something once thought impossible for his kind to possess: feelings . . . for Sass. Soon it’s clear that their prisoner could bring down everything they once believed was worth dying for–and everything they now have to live for.

I did check for JR Ward's latest-- Bam's review here,, Dear Author's here-- but it wasn't out yet, at least at the store I was in. Which means.... I'll have to go back and keep checking for it. *sigh*. I need an intervention.

Today I go to the lawyer to sign the paperwork for the house. Tomorrow we close! We won't actually move till Monday because I want to clean and paint the new place and get the kitchen reno done as much as possible. We're still not completely finished packing up here. 8sob* Needless to say, I'll still be scarce, although these early morning posts seem to be working just fine, but at some point I'll be off line until the new cable is hooked up and the oomputers are set up.
