I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal."

I didn't care for the booing that occurred during McCain's speech, but all in all he gave a good concession speech and was obviously trying to mend fences. Not sure if all the hate mongers he and Palin riled up during the last half of his campaign will be so easily mollified by a few well chosen words. Only time will tell. Let's just hope the Secret Service stays on their toes for the next four years, that's all I'm sayin.

If I could stretch this comment box into one, big, giant grin, I would.
I wasn't sure I'd live to see it.

WOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!

(and yes...God bless the Secret Service...).

LOL. Raine I suspect my doctor will have to prescribe a muscle relaxant for my face eventually, cause that's about the only thing that's going to make this smile go way!

The day before the election, I took all the hateful flyers I'd been getting in the mail from the McCain campaign and the Republican party (fifteen mud-slinging name-calling pieces of false propaganda arrived during the last week before the election) and gave the stack to my daughter. She cut out the photos of Senator Obama and used them for a pro-Obama poster for a school assignment. Her teacher recognized the hate-mail photos and gave her extra credit for creative use of junk mail. :)

I know Florida hasn't been much use to anyone in past elections, but I was thrilled to see the state supported our President Elect. For once I felt like the majority of people in my home state were actually heard and our corresponding EC votes appropriately awarded.

Lynn, I think that's awesome what your daughter did. And kudos to her teacher for giving her extra credit for it. You know, the sad thing is, I'm still seeing a lot of these veiled attacks on Obama. I guess some peeps will never let go of hate. It's sad because they don't see what many, many people around the globe see 'Hope'. It's not necesarily about the man, but the Hope he's awakened in so many who really, really, really wanted to let go of the hate and fear.

btw, I'm waiting on pins and needles for your dangerous (next) book!
