I've recieved a number of emails asking if I'm all right. I am. At the old apartment, we definitely would have felt & seen the explosion(s)--it happened about 10-15min drive away. But we'e pretty much at the other end of the city currently.
My heart goes out to those affected and injured, the fireman who died, and the single worker who is still missing.

Whoa! I didn't even hear about this until I came here. Glad you're okay, though.
Hugs!

Apparently it was on CNN, and peeps saw the blast clear over to Niagara. :-P Considering there were/are residenitial houses *right across the street* from the plant, it's a wonder that there weren't more serious injuries.
Honestly, I was avoiding the news. After Bernie Mac AND Issac Hayes in successive days, I'd needed a break.
They're damn lucky there weren't more.

Yeah, I debated posting about Isaac, but I was too shocked/stunned, particularly as it came hard on the heels of Bernie. Their passing really made me think about how I'm living my life (ie, what I should be paying attention to, and what I shouldn't) Even though I'm still not completely over my cold, I invited one of my best friends over for dinner tonight--we've been keeping in touch by phone/email but hadn't seen each for 2 years! And another one of my bestfriends is coming over with her two small boys (the oldest is my godson) for the whole day Saturday. We're going to the movies, and hang out in the ravine/park (hope to see the duckies/bunnies) and just have a good time.
