Hits the streets today.

Book Description
USA Today bestselling author Anne frasier has kept her readers on the edge of their seats...

Now she delivers a tale that will have them looking over their shoulders. In her new novel, Anne Frasier flirts with the paranormal when a town's horrific legacy gives rise to shadows of fear and suspicion.

Anne Frasier delivers thoroughly engrossing, completely riveting suspense. (Lisa Gardner)

Anne announced plans to have a blog party of this release awhile ago, I thought I'd join in since I have several of her books on my keeper shelf. Drop by her blog and say Hi, check out the Pale Immortal site (very cool marketing), or view the trailer:

**update, for all you romance lovers, Anne says there is a romantic subplot in the story. So what's your excuse now? Uh? what? Go buy the book already. ;-)

The video, though cool, is too long. I stopped watching after the 2 minute mark. I think you have to do this in 30 sec intervals. That is what people are used to watching for commercials. I would totally read this if it had romance in it, but it doesn't. I hope Frasier has success with her book.

It sounds interesting. I liked the video. I think she did a good job of capturing the mood of the book.

Jane, Anne used to write (kickass)romance under the name: Theresa Weir. Granted, if I was going to knit pick the one thing missing from her (kick ass) thrillers is romance. This a slight whiff of one in PLAY DEAD. A mere whiff though.

Jordan, she did a great job with the trailer, and also the PALE IMMORTAL blog site. Lots of added value on that blog. Reminds me of the 'extras' you get on DVDs.

jaye, thanks so much for being involved in the blogathon! i've kind of lost touch with what romance is and isn't. i would say PI does have romance, but i'm not sure. i could be wrong. i'm waiting for some romance readers to read it and clue me in. does sex in the morgue count??? ;) kidding.
i would say it does have romance, but it's not the main focus of the story.

Doing the blog crawlaroonie. How ya doing? Just droppin' in to say hello!

Anne, sex in the morgue *always* counts. ;-) There's a bit of a romance? ::sits up:: Wey-hell, I'll just have to move this baby up a little higher in the tbr. <-- don't take that the wrong way, I tend to save books by my favourite authors, so I always have something to look forward to or fall back on when I get in a reading rut. I consider them my little secret stash of bon-bons. ;)

Shesawriter, I'll just bunny hop over to your blog in a sec!

yep. sex. a newspaper reporter recently told me she read that part out loud to her husband. i haven't heard that comment in years. :D

Anne, to be honest I was trying to come up with witty comment that included the words 'stiff', 'meat' and 'dead lay'... but I restrained myself. *g*

Sex in a morgue is still not enough to take my mind off the mystery of the 'vampire'-- is he or isn't he. Oh, wait, I've only been lurking on your blog for months. I know the answer to that....

yes, people, that was a tease! Go buy the book already!

Great post, Jaye. I'm glad you joined the party. :)

As a romance reader, writer and reviewer, while I wouldn't shelf PI in the romance section, it does have elements of a romance in it, and not just the sex (which was a wonderful scene, btw).

*DAMN BLOGGER ATE MY POST!!*

Bailey, thanks for dropping by! Sometimes a a little romance is just right. It allows what romance there is to be defined outside the usual accept constraints.

I loved the trailer, and now that I finally captured a copy of the book from the Powell's mother ship, I am loving it too!

ah, i'm glad bailey weighed in here. i thought she would know the answer to the romance question. i would have said the same thing, but i've been wrong about my books before.

and bill's been on a day-long quest for that book, poor guy!

Okay Jaye I have to ask, you know my reading tastes....er, yeah, all over the board...Would I like it? It sounds great! And i know what they say about blurbs but I'm a total Lisa Gardner fangirl (sue me LOL)....

Gonna try to hit a book signing (for another author) on Saturday so while I'm there *blinkblink*

::High Five:: Bill -- or should I say 'MC Money'? ;-)

Hey Andrea, sorry I missed ya, last night. I'll take a toddle over to your place in a sec. I agree, the vid is pretty darn impressive.

Amie, Anne hasn't let me down yet. I have all her thrillers on my shelf.

Coolness!

Ooh, I want to read this book! Not sure if the lack of romance is a selling point or not for me...I love romance, but every once in a while I want something different...this might be right up my different alley! *g*

Amie Stuart said...

I picked mine up yesterday *g*

Larissa, I think you'll really like Anne's writing. Ask, Stephanie, btw; if I recall, she's also a big Fraiser fan.

Yay, Amie!!
