I rejoined the RWA. It was a decision that I was back and forthing over for the past year, but ultimately it came down to wanting to take advantage of the Romance Sells brochure they put out (available only to members). Also, it'll be nice to know what everyone's getting their knickers in a knot about re letters to the editor in the magazine.
Not sure if I'll rejoin my local chapter. I like being around other writers (in person) there's just a sort of energy there. On the other hand, experience tells me I'll only make about 2 or 3 meetings out of the whole year (and that was when I lived closer to the meeting place!) Part of the reason for that is, a lot of what gets discussed at meetings has already been turned inside out, exmained from every angled and talked into the ground online, tends to make one zone out....
I'll give it more thought. Also thinking about (re)joining an online chapter. I think I was with From the Heart for awhile there, and really enjoyed them (they had a pretty decent critique group, too.)
So, anyone got suggestions for other online chapters? Let me know in the comments.

Seriously, I know a couple of writers who belong/have belonged to Outreach, and they've had good things to say about it. But I'd get a rec from someone who is a current member you might know before committing to any online chapter.

Thanks for the head's up on the Outreach chapter. I'll definitely check it out.
I don't know, if I had the money, that I'd rejoin. Ultimately, I just didn't get anything out of it except a lot of grief for paying to be excluded. Maybe when I have a print contract and I'm no longer treated like I have malaria, lol.

Dee, I really rejoined solely for the opportunity of being included in Romance Sells (although I think it's too late for Felicity). :-/ We'll see if I renew next year.
