What a great guy, talented actor, and awesome humanitarian. Lately it seems like all the late greats are taking that final bow. Makes me sad, especially when I mentioned it to the manchild and he only vaguely knew who I'm talking about.

Wasn't a great FAN of Newman's acting, but I had a lot of respect for him as a person and, as you said, humanitarian.
Yes, all the old greats are passing on. Very sad.
I wasn't a fan per se either, but I did enjoy the movies of his that I did see. But I've always known him as A STAR (in the old-fashion sense of the word. Not a prima donna, just someone who had earned that title through mastering his craft). And more importantly he's always struck me as a Good Man.
