1. Submissive heroes are not my speed. I'm reading Susan Squire's One With the Night. It's a testament to SS's talent that I haven't 'recycled' this book already. I *hate* when a hero is tortured and dominated by a female. Doesn't matter if she's teh evol beyoitch skanky hooowaarh villianess, or the heroine in some kinker of a BD/SM erotica/erotic romance. I'm not sure what gets to me more, the pain, the humiliation or the emasculation (as far as I'm concerned.) I'm still reading though. It's an excellent story. Not sure I'll be keeping it, only because it presses *this* particular hot button for me.

Reviews, here and here.

2. Ms. Giggle has another editorial up. Blog Drama Drinking Game. To qoute my boi, Busta Nut Rhymes, Pass da Courvoisier.

3. Tess Gerritsen has the most amazing commencement speech--The Creepy Facts Of Life-- posted on her blog. Consider this graduation day, and go read it.

4. The season finale of Supernatural KICKED. ASS!!! OMG, Papa Winchester showed up in a heart wrenching moment. ::sniffle:: I love the dynamic between the brothers. It's not about how easy on they eyes they are (that's just icing on the cake), I love, love, love, the range and the rawness of emotion between them. Dean, Dean, Dean. What did you do, dear boy. How you gonna get out of that bind? I can't wait for next season. Heck I can't wait for the end of summer when this season's dvd goes on sale.

lmao! My thoughts exactly. I swear I was going to leave a comment on your blog to this effect then got sidetracked. :-P

Back to One With The Night. Putting aside my dislike of the dominated/submissive hero. I thought it was a really great book with strong characterization. And the backstory was handled well. Even the hero's "burr" didn't bother me at all.

Not only separated at birth, but great minds... :D

...a really great book with strong characterization. And the backstory was handled well. I was very unhappy with "The Burning's" backstory and agree the handling of the backstory was much better in this one.

Even the hero's "burr" didn't bother me at all. I know--LOL. A burr will normally remind me that Maili's not around to complain about Scottish mistakes.

I thought of Maili, too. :-P
Thanks for the advice on The Burning. Not sure if it's in the tbr pile or not. I know the online buzz about it caught my attention at the time, but I've always been more of a werewolf gal, than a vamp gal, so I might of passed it up.
