So You Want to Start Reading Romantic Fantasy

Monday, October 03, 2005

I just realized that the AMAZON link (in the post below) tothe KUSHIEL TRILOGY was broken. So I fixed it, but in doing so noticed one of those 'favorite' lists they usually have of the sidebar, and I usually ignore. The title (that I've shameless copped above) caught my eye, so I checked it out.

It was compiled by Arshareh, and the little blurb reads:

This list is a "conversion" kit for romance readers who'd like to try fantasy, and readers who just like romantic fantasy. In romantic fantasy, the development of the relationship is really the heart of the story. I love romances where the hero and heroine really have to work for their happy ending, and I like the same thing in fantasy. If you like your heroines and heroes to be intense and complex in darkly passionate worlds, these books are for you.

Right. Up. My. Alley.

Many of the suggestions are already in my tbr pile, others I'm going to give a straight pass--tried them (or that author's work) didn't care for it. But there's a number that have definitely caught my interest. Here's the link for anyone else looking for this type of read.

hmmm. I finished KUSHIEL'S DART last night. Enjoyed it, but decided against moving on to the sequel. I started another fantasy by Susan Douglass (can't remember the title for beans, and too lazy to go look. heh.)
