***Update: oops, my bad. Must give Maili her props. Guess I wasn't paying attention, but I see now that it's her blog post that started this fun exercise.
Directions:
1. Take first five novels from your bookshelf.
2. Book 1 -- first sentence
3. Book 2 -- last sentence on page 50
4. Book 3 -- second sentence on page 100
5. Book 4 -- next to the last sentence on page 150
6. Book 5 -- final sentence of the book
7. Make the five sentences into a paragraph.
8. Feel free to "cheat" to make it a better paragraph.
9. Name your sources
10.Post to your blog.
Since I have a stack of books here right beside me, (some read, some in the process of) I’ve used those, rather than schlepping down the hall to the bookshelf. Here’s my results:
Until the whole thing happened, I never believed the old line about how you should be careful what you wish for, because you might get it. I didn’t even realize it at the time, but as I began to shiver all over and weep like a baby, he wrapped his arms around and stroked my hair. “I’ve got a connection at another restaurant if you want me to ask about professional brands.” Sam would know where to go to get my knee treated in a timely Western fashion. His favorite sexual position is 69.
LOL. And I didn’t cheat. (that was the warm up part. ::snort::, that and hunting down bits info....)
1. Paranoia by Joseph Finder.
2. These is my Words by Nancy E. Turner
3. Bad Girl by Michelle Jaffe
4. Whose panties are these? More Misadventures from Funny Women on the road Edited by Jennifer L. Leo
5. Generation S.L.U.T by Marty Beckerman.

I have BAD GIRL on my TBR...did you enjoy it?
I loved it!! Take it out of your TBR pile right now and read it. :-) I also read her LOVERBOY, which I liked also, but not as much. Unfortunately she hasn't written anymore contemp rom-suspense/mystery. All her other books are historical. I tried one, but it did quite hold my attention. But I'd buy another contemp/rom-susp from her in a heartbeat.
I have Lover Boy in the the pile too. *g* It was a 2-4-1 deal. lol OK, it's next up then. :)
LOL. I got the same two-fer.
Her next mystery BAD KITTY is due out in 2006. :( I enjoyed LOVERBOY AND BAD GIRL, but I liked BAD GIRL more. :)
Maili, Thank you!! I thought those books were a one shot deal, (look at the way they were packaged) and that they didn't sell well, so she couldn't get a contract for more. I really, really, like Bad Girl. Thank you, thank you for the heads up on Bad Kitty.
